Carolyn's first plane ride! She snoozed most of the time on the airplane (a relief to all those around us, I'm sure) in her sling (a most excellent invention). It was a long day, though- full of the usual delays, plus some. Our plane sat on the ground for about 45 minutes in Detroit (after being delayed more than an hour boarding to begin with) before we took off for Philadelphia- Carolyn was not especially thrilled with the delay (preferring the soothing hum of the plane engine to the frustrated gruntings of its weary passengers) and was fussy. I was so glad when we finally started moving and she calmed down!

I think the best part of the day was our 3-hour layover in Detroit. Carolyn enjoyed a meal in an out-of-the way corner of a gate, followed by Burping By Dad in front of a window where she gazed interestedly at the trucks and planes outside.

Posing for a picture on top of our luggage.

Enjoying a ride on the conveyor belt. Posted by Picasa
